How it works

From first message to final smile, in five steps.

You start here. Your clinic handles everything clinical: the exam, the scan, the plan and your check-ups.

  1. 1

    Choose a clinic

Send a request on this page. We pass it to the partner clinic you picked.

  2. 2

    Consultation & scan

The clinic checks whether aligners suit you and takes a 3D scan of your teeth.

  3. 3

    See your plan

Specialized dentists design your movement plan. You see where your teeth will go before you start.

  4. 4

    Wear & switch

Move to each new set of aligners on schedule, with check-ins at your clinic along the way.

  5. 5

    Keep the result

A retainer holds your new smile in place once treatment ends.

Treatment explained

Your plan is yours alone.

No two mouths are the same. Your friend’s aligner journey can look very different from yours — and that’s normal. Your clinic and our dentists build the plan around your teeth, not an average.

What can be different for you

How long it takesA few months for some, over a year for others.
Number of alignersDepends on how far each tooth needs to travel.
IPR or notOnly if your teeth need a little extra room.
Attachments or notHow many, and on which teeth.
Check-in rhythmHow often your clinic wants to see you.
Fine-tuningSome plans add a short extra set at the end.
IPR

Making a little room, so your teeth can line up.

IPR (interproximal reduction) means gently polishing a tiny amount of enamel from the sides of selected teeth. Sometimes teeth are simply a bit too wide for the space they have — that’s why they crowd and overlap. IPR creates just enough room for them to straighten.

  • Tiny amounts. Usually a few tenths of a millimetre — about the thickness of a few sheets of paper, from enamel that is far thicker.
  • Quick and usually painless. Done with fine polishing strips. No injections or drilling into the tooth.
  • Doesn’t harm your teeth. Done within the planned amount and followed by good brushing, it leaves your teeth healthy and strong.
  • Small gaps are planned. You may see little spaces for a while. They close as your teeth move — by mid to late treatment, no gaps are visible.
Not quite enough room

Your teeth are a little wider than the space in your jaw, so they overlap and twist.

The aligner wraps snugly around the attachment, so it can push and turn the tooth in exactly the planned direction.

Attachments

Small handles that help your aligners grip.

Attachments are tiny, tooth-coloured bumps bonded to some of your teeth. Your aligner fits snugly over them, giving it something to push against.

  • Why they matter. They let aligners turn, raise and tilt teeth precisely — moves a smooth tray can’t grip on its own.
  • Barely noticeable. Matched to your tooth colour and only a few millimetres wide — most people won’t spot them in conversation.
  • Gentle to place, easy to remove. Bonded on with a template — no drilling. At the end they’re polished off.
  • A small habit. They can pick up stains from coffee, tea or smoking, and may feel rough to your tongue for the first few days.

Benefits

Everything braces do. Less of what you don’t want.

Nearly invisible

Clear, thin trays. Most people won’t notice you’re wearing them.

Eat what you like

Take them out for meals. No list of banned foods.

Easy to keep clean

Brush and floss normally — no brackets or wires to work around.

A plan you can see

Your movement is mapped digitally before treatment, so you know where you’re heading.

Good to know

Honest about the trade-offs.

Aligners work when you work with them. Read this before you request a consultation.

01

20–22 hours a day

They only move teeth while they’re in. Out too long and the plan slows down.

02

Out for food, in after brushing

Remove them to eat or drink anything but water, and brush before putting them back.

03

A few tight days

Each new set can feel snug at first, and some people lisp slightly for the first days.

04

Not right for every case

Your clinic decides after examining you. Some complex cases need other treatment.

05

Retainers afterwards

Teeth tend to drift back. Wearing a retainer is part of keeping your result.

06

Paid before your aligners are made

Your clinic quotes after your consultation. Aligners are made for you alone, so payment is settled before treatment starts.

Rule number one

Your commitment is the treatment.

Aligners only move teeth while you wear them. Your result depends on three habits more than anything else:

  • 1Wear them 20–22 hours, every day
  • 2Switch to each new set on schedule
  • 3Keep every check-up with your clinic

Before your visit

Walk into the clinic already knowing the answers.

Bring or prepare

  • What you’d like to change about your smile — photos help.
  • Your dental and medical history, and any medicines you take.
  • Recent dental X-rays, if you have them.
  • Expect a check of your gums and any fillings first — healthy teeth come before moving teeth.

Common questions

Your clinic will give answers for your case. These are the general ones.

Does it hurt?

Most people feel pressure or tightness for a day or two with each new set — a sign the aligners are working. It usually fades quickly.

How long does treatment take?

It depends entirely on your teeth: from a few months for small corrections to over a year for more complex cases. Your clinic will give you an estimate after your scan.

Can I drink tea or coffee with them in?

Plain water only. Take your aligners out for anything else, then brush or rinse before putting them back, so nothing gets trapped against your teeth.

Why do I pay before treatment starts?

Your aligners are custom-made from your scan and fit only your teeth — they can’t be reused or given to anyone else. So payment is settled before production. Your clinic sets the terms: either a deposit at your consultation and the full balance before treatment starts, or the full amount before your aligners are made.

What matters most for a good result?

Commitment. Wear your aligners 20–22 hours a day, switch sets on schedule and keep your check-ups. The plan only works if the aligners are in your mouth.

Will people notice them?

Rarely. The trays are clear and thin, and attachments are tooth-coloured. Most people won’t notice unless you tell them.

What if I lose or break an aligner?

Call your clinic. Depending on where you are in the plan, they may ask you to move to the next set, go back to the previous one, or order a replacement.

Can I take them out for a special event?

For a few hours, yes. Just make up the time — the 20–22 hours a day is what keeps your plan on track.

Will IPR make my teeth weak or sensitive?

No. Only a very thin layer of the outer enamel is polished, within limits your plan sets. Some people notice brief sensitivity; good brushing keeps teeth healthy.

Am I too old for aligners?

There’s no upper age limit. What matters is healthy gums and bone, which your clinic will check.

Do I need retainers afterwards?

Yes. Teeth naturally try to drift back. Your clinic will tell you how often to wear your retainer to keep your result.
